The St Davids Community Garden known as Erw Dewi or Dewi's acre is located down on The Close, the road leading to the back of St Davids Cathedral and the Bishops Palace. The project is led by EcoDewi in collaboration with the cathedral. Started in 2020, this unused and overgrown plot was cleared to create a space that serves 3 purposes:
1. Develop a space where locals can grow food together as a community and learn about growing.
2. Enhance the space for biodiversity and create new habitats for wildlife.
3. Create a garden which is open to anyone at anytime to spend time in nature, meet with friends or relax in contemplation.
The garden has developed over the years into a thriving space and it is entirely managed by volunteers.
Volunteering sessions happen most weeks, normally on a Wednesday or a Saturday, and there is something for everyone. We welcome new volunteers and get in touch if you'd like to find out more.
Our latest dates can normally be found on our Facebook page.
