A Unique Cultural Experience
Imagine a crisp autumn evening in Cardigan, the air filled with anticipation and the scent of fallen leaves. As you step into the intimate setting of Small World Theatre, you’re about to witness a groundbreaking blend of opera, dance, and film that delves deep into the clash between tradition and change.
About the Opera
Bwystfilod Aflan is inspired by Edward Prosser Rhys’s controversial 1924 Eisteddfod-winning poem, ATGOF. This innovative production, a collaboration between Music Theatre Wales, Music@Aber, and Sinfonia Cymru, scrutinizes the societal shockwaves triggered by ATGOF. Rhys’s poem boldly depicted themes of lust and romance between two young men, challenging the societal norms of his time and the era’s complexities and biases.
