What do we do?
If you like the sound of it, get in touch! We'd love to talk with you about how we can work together.
Welcome to Clynfyw! There's so much to say and we'd love you to visit. Its much easier and more fun to have a look rather than just read about a place.
We've been running for over 30years, and still enjoying being here...and that's the thing. We want Clynfyw to be fun.
If you think any of these things are fun, maybe Clynfyw is the place for you?
1. Do you like cooking? You could join the cooking team, learning new skills while making delicious food to share
2. Do you like gardening? You could learn about growing vegetables, taking some home and also supplying the kitchen team. Delicious!
3. Do you like animals? You could be part of the Chicken Team, taking care of our rescue hens, showing them to groups that visit, and making sure they are happy.
4. Do you like crafting? You could learn about pottery, knitting, painting, drawing, crochet, macrame, mosaics, and a whole load of other things, making things to take home, to sell, and also to add to our woodland sculpture trail. Such choice!
5. Do you like physical work? You could join our woodland team, making charcoal in the summer time and processing timber to heat the cottages.
6. Do you like drama, dance, singing and storytelling? We run sessions in these and if you want to you can take part. You can be a complete beginner or have a lot of experience. Or you could just sit and watch for a bit before getting involved. Whatever feels right for you.
7. Do you like fixing things and helping people? Our Wheelie Good Idea project fixes wheelchairs and mobility aids and a whole load of other things, which we then send to South Africa, Kenya, Ukraine, Lebanon, Calais and other places where people really need help. It makes us feel good to help other people.
8. Do you want to develop your numeracy and literacy and independent living skills? We can help with that too, either with straightforward teaching/learning or with them embedded in other projects so we learn without even noticing it!
9. Do you like playing pool and table football, football and cricket and other games? We do a bit of that too.
10. Do you like writing and/or taking photographs? You could join our Media Crew, writing the monthly newsletter, word search and BSL word search and other things like that.
11. Do you like learning things? We can offer courses linked to ASDAN, or tailor more specific things to meet your needs. Just ask!
And, if you need somewhere to live, let us know. There are nine people living in their own supported tenancy on the farm. Why not come in for a chat and see if you'd like to live here too.
We also run Kinora, the mental health recovery centre in Cardigan. Get in touch if you'd like more information about the support offered there too.
Do any of these things appeal? You don't have to do them all! Do come and see and talk about it all.
(and if you'd like to work here someday, why not come in and have a chat about that too!)
