Scottish Country Dancing is a great way of meeting people and having fun and at the same time, gently exercising your mind and your body. The music is relaxing and enjoyable too.
It is open to people of all ages, even very senior ones!
There are three active classes meeting regularly in Pembrokeshire at Houghton, Robeston Wathen and Haverfordwest, all of which welcome anyone from complete beginner to more experienced dancer. An initial trial class is free and thereafter costs only from £2-£5 per class depending on the class venue.
You do not need to bring a partner with you as people dance in groups or 'sets' so it is ideal for single people.
Scottish Country Dancing is overseen by the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society which has clubs operating all over the world including Europe, the Americas and Asia. The South Wales branch has an interesting and welcoming website at www.rscds-southwales.org.uk/ for more local information.
