BESPOKE is a weekly social & support group in Pembroke for adults with SCI/mobility issues and their carers. We are a weekly group that meets at the Tanyard Youth Project on a Tuesday at 1:45-3:45pm. Members include full-time and part-time wheelchair users as well as those with limited mobility. It is open to all adults 18+ who find it a challenge to get about.
The main aim is to reduce the social isolation that results from having mobility issues. Many new friendships have been formed and contact is maintained through a strong social media group.
Members participate in a variety of activities and thanks to the co-op members who donated a wonderful total of £1,243.28 we will be able to offer more activities which at the same time still allow us to social distance. We are very grateful for this as we all know we are having to find new ways to approach activities.
