Our 5 key messages

Anyone can be kind

No act of kindness is too small. Make a kindness pledge today and collect your digital badge to spread the message of kindness.

Kindness encourages the production of chemicals in your body that help to lower blood pressure and improve heart health, as well boosting your self-esteem and optimism, helping to calm us down and making us happy.

Being kind can help us feel a sense of belonging, make new friends, and connect with our communities. Feeling connected can have a big impact reducing loneliness and isolation.

People who are kind and compassionate see clear benefits to their wellbeing and happiness. They may even live longer. Kindness can also help reduce stress and improve our emotional wellbeing.

The positive effects of kindness are experienced in the brain of everyone who witnessed the act, improving their mood and making them much more likely to “pay it forward.” This means one good deed can create a domino effect and improve the day for lots of people.
