The Rudbaxton Community Association and Pembrokeshire Community Hub have teamed up to launch a brand new trial initiative in Crundale — the Crundale Neighbourhood Network.
The aim? Simple but powerful: to bring neighbours together, offer low-level support, and help rebuild the social connections that keep communities strong.
In today’s fast-paced world, it can be easy to feel disconnected. Many of us are working longer hours, juggling more information, and missing out on the small but meaningful interactions with the people who live nearby. This new project is here to change that — by making it easier to ask for help, offer support, and reconnect with others in the village.
Neighbours helping neighbours
Sometimes we need a little help — picking up some milk, walking the dog, or just having a friendly chat — but we don’t always know who to ask or worry we’ll be a nuisance. That’s where the Crundale Neighbourhood Network comes in.
The Pembrokeshire Community Hub is open five days a week and always has someone on hand to answer the phone or check emails. Through this new scheme, residents can call the Hub and be connected with a local volunteer who is happy to help with small tasks.
How does it work?
- People offering help: Rudbaxton Community Association has identified a group of friendly local volunteers in Crundale who are willing to lend a hand with small everyday tasks.
- Support offered: This could include things like walking a dog, picking up groceries, popping in for a cuppa, changing a light bulb — the small things that make life easier and more connected.
- Requesting support: Just call the Hub on 01437 723660 or email [email protected]. Let us know your name, where you live, and what you're looking for. We’ll try to link you with someone local who can help.
A few things to know
Volunteers are members of the community, not professionals, so while they’re happy to help, they won’t be able to do major tasks like gardening or house repairs.
The Hub is open Monday to Thursday, 9am–4:30pm, and Friday 9am–4pm. You’re welcome to call during these hours to request help for evenings or weekends — we’ll do our best!
While we’ll try to meet all requests, we can’t guarantee every one will be possible — but we’ll always try our hardest.
Want to get involved?
If you live in Crundale and would like to offer your help or get more information, just call the Hub on 01437 723660. Whether you're requesting support or signing up as a volunteer, we'd love to hear from you.
After the trial, we may reach out to ask for your feedback to help shape the future of the scheme.
