Young Volunteers- Digital Heroes
A Digital Hero is a younger person who can help an older person in their community develop Digital skills and confidence. They might be a pupil at primary or secondary school, a student or a member of a youth group or club.
Digital Communities Wales can help by;
- Providing training for groups of young people, enabling them to share digital skills effectively
- Strengthen community links by helping set up an inter-generational digital support project
- Help young people develop new skills, have fun and take part in a recognised Welsh Baccalaureate Community Challenge.
This training session enables young learners (under 18) to understand the benefits of having grown up with digital technology and encourages them to use their digital skills to help people of other generations who are not confident online.
During this course, the learners will cover online safety, both for the end users and themselves. We will also cover the important skills of listening, patience and when to signpost the people they are supporting to more appropriate channels of learning.
