About
We provide free advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities.
Pembrokeshire Citizens Advice is your local, independent charity dedicated to giving free, confidential, impartial advice across the county. We support people with their rights, responsibilities and everyday challenges. We champion equality, embrace diversity and stand against discrimination.
What we do in Pembrokeshire
We help with issues like:
-
Legal rights and responsibilities
-
Welfare benefits and completing claim forms
-
Debt management and financial education
-
Health and disability challenges
-
Employment concerns
-
Housing problems
-
Consumer rights
-
Family and relationship matters
-
Home, neighbourhood and community issues
We deliver advice in ways that work for people: in person, by phone, via email, in outreach venues or through home visits. We work closely with local authorities, health services, schools, and other community partners to make sure advice reaches those who need it most.
Local initiatives & impact
-
Each year we assist thousands of residents with tens of thousands of individual issues. In 2024 alone, we helped over 4,000 people with more than 20,000 issues across Pembrokeshire.
-
We run a pilot project called People PWR, which started in 2023, that supports families with school-age children to maximise their income and plan for financial stability.
-
Using evidence from the problems people bring to us, we push for changes in local policy and systems to make life fairer for more people in Pembrokeshire.
-
We also lead reports like Words to Action, which gathers voices from across the county to highlight how poverty affects local people—like the impact of school costs, energy bills and accessible services—and call for practical steps to support struggling communities.
Funding & heritage
-
Our funding comes from a mix of local government, Welsh government, project grants, partners, and public donations.
-
Pembrokeshire Citizens Advice was formed in 2008 by merging the Haverfordwest and Pembroke area bureaux into one stronger, county-wide service.
Our purpose
-
To provide Pembrokeshire people with the advice they need when they face problems
-
To drive improvements in local policies, practices and systems based on what we learn from those we help
-
To build a fairer, more supportive Pembrokeshire where no one faces challenges alone
