Tom Moses
Tom Moses is the Community Connector for Children, Families and Young People for the north of Pembrokeshire.
I’m very excited to be joining Sarah (and PAVS) as their second Community Connector for Children, Young People and Families (for the north of the county) as it’s a great way to use the knowledge, skills and contacts I have developed over the last quarter of a century to help people improve their lives.
My career started through volunteering for the Prince’s Trust (now the King’s Trust, the UK’s largest charity for young people) in Bristol before getting a job at their Neyland centre in 2001. I worked from 2006 for Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority as a Discovery Ranger focusing on communities and including everyone in the benefits of getting outdoors, connecting with nature and doing a bit to help look after our wonderful countryside. I’ve also done a lot to support other organisations to use the outdoors more and hope I can continue to connect people with these benefits in this role.
I have developed good connections with education through being a school Parent Governor, and with local government as a Haverfordwest Town Councillor where I’m the Biodiversity Champion. This led to me working at PLANED coordinating the CWBR Youth project which was all about supporting town and community councils to do more to involve young people – it’s important for people to feel their views are being listened to – it's another thing which helps with wellbeing and feeling part of their communities.
I’m really looking forward to getting out into the communities in my patch, everywhere north of the A40 as well as Haverfordwest and Narberth, meeting people, community organisations and public bodies and helping make useful connections.
