Overview
As a Community Grower at Clynfyw, you will be part of a thriving community garden set within a larger social enterprise that includes a care farm, orchards, apple juicing, and the Ffynnon Farmstart headquarters. The garden is an active, welcoming space supported by care farm participants, residents, and public volunteers.
Purpose of the Role
To support the growing of fresh vegetables for veg boxes, on-site use, and small-scale sales, while contributing to an inclusive and purposeful community environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Join weekly volunteer sessions every Thursday from 10am–2pm (flexible arrival/departure times available).
- Take part in a range of gardening tasks including sowing, planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, and composting.
- Work across multiple growing spaces, including several polytunnels, outdoor beds, and an extensive composting system.
- Collaborate with care farm volunteers, residents, and other community members in a friendly and supportive environment.
- Help maintain a productive and organised garden that supplies veg boxes, kitchen produce, and occasional sales.
- Enjoy optional shared lunches available for £3, ordered in the morning.
Personal Qualities & Skills
- Interest in gardening, food growing, or community-based projects.
- Friendly, patient, and comfortable working in an inclusive setting with people of varying abilities.
- Willingness to work outdoors and engage in practical tasks.
- No previous gardening experience required—support is available.
Time Commitment
