Overview
The Pen Y Foidr Community Plot is a community-run project supported by Ffynnon. Volunteers work together to tend a large outdoor plot and growing beds within a polytunnel. Pen Y Foidr operates as a conventional allotment site including a communal tool shed and equipment and connections to nearby Ffynnon projects, such as the adjacent Fruit & Nut Community Garden and a public footpath.
Purpose of the Role
To help grow, maintain, and develop the Pen y Foidr community plot, contributing to shared food production, community engagement, and wider Ffynnon activities if desired.
Key Responsibilities
- Join weekly volunteer sessions every Friday from 10am–2pm (flexible arrival/departure times available).
- Help tend the main plot and polytunnel beds.
- Support general allotment tasks such as planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, and seasonal maintenance.
- Assist with the upkeep of the fruit cage, including regular checks and maintenance.
- Support the care of newly planted trees, including mulching and watering as needed.
- Share harvested produce among volunteers and support its use at community events.
- Get involved in wider Ffynnon events and projects if interested.

- Reliable and able to attend regular sessions where possible.

Time Commitment
Weekly sessions on Fridays, with flexibility depending on availability. Additional opportunities are available to support events and other Ffynnon projects.
