Pembrokeshire Food Bank | Various Locations

Pembrokeshire Foodbank provides three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by the Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

There are 5 centres within Pembrokeshire (Haverfordwest, Pembroke Dock, Fishguard, Neyland and Narberth) staffed by dedicated volunteers, who offer a 'Community Cafe' space over 3 days a week, along with emergency access to food at all other times.

They are part of the FareShare FoodCloud initiative to reduce food waste from county-wide shops, offering fruit, veg and bakery goods, which are available to ALL in the county without need of a voucher, during every session that they are open in each 5 of the Centres.

Foodshare redistributes surplus food from supermarkets, therefore, by taking it, you're helping reduce waste.

OLIO APP

Olio Website

Olio's motto is 'share more, waste less.' And the Olio app connects neighbours with each other as well as with local businesses so that surplus food can be shared, not thrown away. This could be food nearing its sell-by date in local stores, spare home-grown vegetables, bread from your baker, or the groceries in your fridge when you go away.

TOO GOOD TO GO APP

Too Good To Go Website

Every day, delicious fresh food goes to waste at cafés, restaurants, hotels, shops and manufacturers just because it hasn’t been sold in time. This app lets you buy and collect this food, so that it gets eaten instead of wasted. You won’t know exactly what’s in your order until you collect it.

Visit the Too Good To Go website above to learn more about this fascinating social impact company, which began life in Copenhagen in 2016.
