Overview
Ffynnon Community Resilience CIC – building local resilience, addressing community and environmental challenges including food security, climate adaptation and community preparedness in North East Pembrokeshire.
Purpose of the Role
The Welsh Translator plays a vital role in ensuring Ffynnon’s work is accessible, inclusive and bilingual. By translating key materials into Welsh, you will help support Welsh language use while strengthening communication with the local community.
Key Responsibilities
Translate written materials from English into Welsh, such as:
- Website content
- Volunteer information
- Community notices and posters
- Funding applications or reports (short sections)
Ensure translations are clear, accurate and appropriate for a community audience.
Where appropriate, advise on tone and culturally appropriate Welsh language use.
Occasionally review existing Welsh text for clarity or consistency.
Work collaboratively with volunteers, staff and committee members.
Personal Qualities & Skills
- Fluent Welsh speaker with strong written Welsh.
- Good understanding of community, voluntary or environmental language.
- Reliable and able to meet agreed deadlines.
- Attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality translations.
Formal translation qualifications are welcome but not essential.
Time Commitment
Flexible, task-based. Translation requests will vary depending on projects and funding deadlines.

Your work will help ensure Ffynnon’s projects and opportunities are accessible to Welsh speakers, support the everyday use of the Welsh language, and strengthen inclusion and participation across North East Pembrokeshire.
